Conigital trials Autonomous Bus between the long stay car park and airport terminal

We’re excited to have had this opportunity to work with Southampton airport and AGS to understand how we can introduce an automated passenger service that is running between the long-stay car park and the airport terminal. This is using our ConAV which is the retrofit modular automated vehicle platform that we have installed into the existing Alexander Dennis bus that is providing the service already. We’re running a level 3 service which means we do have an operator within the vehicle who’s providing oversight of what’s happening and providing the opportunity to override the system if something does go wrong so it's a safe solution. This is part of our more extensive programme and bigger initiative to understand how automated vehicles can be part of mobility as a service solution in the future.
