In this video I briefly cover sleep training which I have successfully done with multiple babies and children. My approach has always centred on presence nearby, reassurance, and gentle methods such as pat-back and return-to-reassure not “cry it out” abandonment. That isn’t cold or unloving; it’s secure attachment with healthy boundaries. Teaching a child to self-soothe with support is one of the greatest gifts we can give them. Sleep is a biological need, not a luxury, and children who learn healthy sleep rhythms are often more emotionally regulated, secure, and resilient. As Christians, we are called to raise children with wisdom and love, not fear, and to guide them gently rather than be led by anxiety. In recent years, many adults are parenting from unresolved guilt, fear of being seen as “traumatising,” or anxiety around attachment theories taken to extremes. The question can quietly shift from “What does this child need to become a healthy adult?” to “How do I avoid my child ever being upset?” Yet frustration, transition, and learning to settle are normal parts of growth. Scripture reminds us that loving guidance and steady leadership are part of care. Shielding children from all discomfort doesn’t make them safer; it often leaves them without the tools they need later in life. Calm presence, consistency, and boundaries are not a lack of compassion they are expressions of it. This video explores a biblical worldview of childcare and discipline, grounded in God’s Word. ▶️ More Bible teaching on my channel #biblicalparenting #christianparenting #biblicalworldview
