Hello, 2025! (Dadeland North, early January 1, 2025)

With 2025 about 45 minutes old here in Miami, I decided to take a walk around my neighborhood, which is dominated by the Dadeland North Metrorail Station, and check out what transit sights were visible. Metrorail was operating on a roughly 15-minute headway until 2am, as MDT has traditionally done on NYE to get revelers home safe. Metromover was also open til 2am. At 2am, all stations closed to boarding passengers, and the final north- and southbound trains depart Government Center, only dropping off passengers until they reached the outer terminals around 2:30am. The air was heavy and humid, not feeling the 69 degrees the thermometer said it was, and it was very misty and smoky outside. Perfect conditions for fog to develop later in the night. A few Metrorail runbys, some scenery, and Proterra E22147, working the last 88 of the night at 1am, are to be seen. The Miami-Dade PD had a major matrix response down Kendall Drive in the distance while I was out there, and you'll hear the many sirens, but for what reason is not known as there's nothing in the local news about anything happening around here.
