𝗦𝗮𝗯𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝘅 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹 Warwickshire Hunt - Barcheston - Monday 26th January We were joined by Three Counties Hunt Sabs in Barcheston. After leaving the meet Goffe took the hounds across the busy B4035 to st Dennis before turning round and heading back across the road heading back towards Barcheston. Here the hounds picked up on a fox and ran off towards Knolland’s Farm on the other side of the B4035. What followed was complete chaos. Goffe ended up on the B4035 with only a handful of hounds. The hounds he did have ran over both lanes on a blind bend and into oncoming traffic. This is the same section of road that the Warwickshire Hunt famously held up an ambulance on blue lights. Meanwhile Goffe’s son Thomas rode off towards st Dennis to look for the rest of the pack. After an hour of trying to regain control of the hounds Goffe eventually crossed back over the road and headed up Brailes Hill by North Farm, hunting the gorse. The hounds soon picked up on another fox hunting it around Cherington Hill. Goffe spent some time actively trying to get the hounds to re-find the fox on Cherington Hill. What he didn’t know was that one of our sabs had seen the fox escape by Cherington Butts safely away from the hounds. Next Goffe took the hounds to Oaken Covert, part of Church Farm Sutton Under Brailes and owned by Christine Locke, Richard Pennington Marshall and Thomas Frederick Marshall. Again hounds quickly picked up on a fox however Goffe abruptly gathered the hounds and left the covert once he realised sabs had been present and watching the whole time. He quickly moved on the Hubert Keller's Brailes Hill and hunted a fox over to Jenny Swift Plantation. Goffe sat and watched as a fox ran across the top of the gorse with hounds close behind. Luckily the fox broke covert running down hill allowing foot sabs to covert the path it had taken ensuring it escaped to safety. The hunt packed up not long after.
