I put Billy Bob in a pen so the Fruits could check him out. Mango sniffed and left, Peaches passed by and left, and Kiwi was curious but cautious of the new kid in the school. During this stage, everyone got to know each other through scent and sight without physically meeting. When it was time for them to meet face-to-face, I let the girls read his résumé — litter box first. Mango went first; she’s the head Fruit! I used a wand toy to redirect their attention and keep the tension low. After a short session, Peaches went next. She was so focused on the toy that there was little interaction — which is totally fine, and actually preferable at this stage. Kiwi was the most reserved and uncomfortable, so I kept it quiet and brief, using treats to prevent direct contact. Next time, their meetings will be less controlled, but I’ll be there observing and ready to intervene as needed.
