So I got in a prototype of the new Dayan ZhanChi today thanks to an ELITE and Lubix trade with Breandan Vallance. Thank You!!! So far it's really amazing! Dayan is creating some great cubes for us. Thank you V-Cube for resolving your differences. Mine came unopened, pre lubed with a low viscosity silicone that felt like Maru lube, and it was not stickered. I stickered it with a set of GuHong stickers using the application tape and they fit perfect. Surprisingly out of the box the ZhanChi spun pretty well. (Unlike the GuHong which spins horribly un-lubed) It had a bit of a clicky/locky feel that I'm familiar with being caused by the edges, so I did the 48 point edge mod, and lubed it with Lubix using the Ultimate method. I replaced the stock core with an A1 core since they thread straight and are better quality than Dayan cores. (IMO) I lubed it like I do on the Ultimates. (hardware, core, surfaces) Corner cutting is 45°, reverse corner cutting is about 22° (3/4 of the center cubie) It is faster and smoother than the Ultimate, and takes a precision to control it and prevent over-turns and accidental slices while doing algs. It physically feels a lot like an FII being it's nice and rounded. (On the outside edges) It spins like a combination of the LingYun and GuHong... Only smoother and less friction. (Doesn't feel gummy) This cube spins quickly with very little effort, and without the fear of lock-ups or pops. It is adjusted with a very small window of tension exactly the same as the GuHong. I will be selling "The Ultimate Lubix ZhanChi" on my site as soon as they are released. Well there you go! I do a few more videos on this cube soon, so ask some questions about it here and I'll try to answer them the best I can. Weights: GuHong 83 grams / 2.9 oz LingYun 90 grams / 3.1 oz ZhanChi 94 grams / 3.3 oz The ZhanChi is about 1mm larger than the GuHong. Pixel 6 -
