The ‪@afthunderbirds‬ closed out the Saturday flying display at JBLE with a fantastic six-ship low show performance. The team had been flying five-ship performances as there was a late swap of pilots in the middle of winter training and the recalled pilot, LtCol Ian "Bear" Lee, was not yet up to par to fly in the demo. Friday's demo (which I shot with my iPhone as I was not allowed to bring my camera on base - even though others had cameras) was flown with Air Combat Command brass watching and signing off the full demonstration profile. Having said that, you're watching the first full six-ship display of the 2025 season, which was flown in tribute to Rob Holland. The 2025 Air Power Over Hampton Roads took place at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia on April 26-27, 2025. The video here was shot on Saturday April 26, 2025. All of the video I've shot at the 2025 Air Power Over Hampton Roads is being dedicated to the memory of Rob Holland, who was slated to fly in the airshow and tragically lost his life when he was landing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis on Thursday April 24, 2025. Not only was Rob one of the finest aerobatic and airshow pilots to grace the skies, he was also a fantastic person and a very good friend of mine. As a small tribute to my friend Rob, I have also included his abbreviated motto underneath my watermark. The rate applies only to music broadcast over the public address system during the public air show portion of the program (not practice/rehearsal/closed to the public days) and does not provide the air show with the right to use pre-recorded music at concerts or other non-air show special events held in conjunction with the air show.
