01/11/25 This day turned out to be busier than I expected. There were 2 steam specials running on the GWML and so we went to photograph both, with interesting results. The first was GWR Castle Class No. 7029 'Clun Castle' which was on its last railtour before overhaul. We would see this at Cholsey on its way to Paddington, what we werent expected was the Class 37 to be on the front, but no matter, it was still an interesting shot with a Castle, a 37 AND the 121 in the Cholsey and Wallingford platform. Since we had a long wait for Eddystone, we decided to head over to Didcot Railway Centre since Cholsey wouldn't start operating until the afternoon. To our surprise it was a running day with 4144 and Trojan in steam. We then headed back to Cholsey to see SR West Country No. 34028 'Eddystone' come through on its way from Manchester to Reading, having headed up the previous weekend. Finally, we headed over to Pangbourne to see Clun Castle come through on its first departure from Paddington since the 60s, unfortunately at the last minute, it swapped over to the fast line and so the shot didnt turn out as hoped. Oh well, something had to go wrong somewhere 😅 Also included in the video is the up working for Eddystone taken before I went over to Slough & Windsor Model Railway Exhibition!
