A lot of people with chronic insomnia are concerned that watching TV at night might disrupt their sleep. However, this concern is largely unfounded. Although high exposure to light on the blue wavelength may disrupt sleep, we usually sit far enough away from the TV so this isn't much of a concern. The only potential problem with watching TV at night is if you fall asleep in front of the TV (see this video: • Why falling asleep in front of the TV is n... ) or watch something too exciting, stressful, or stimulating — in this case, the programming itself might make it harder to fall asleep.
