Design Thinking in Practice (DTIP) | An Immersive Executive Education Programme at UCT

Design Thinking in Practice (DTIP) is a three-day, in-person executive education programme offered by the Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika at the University of Cape Town. In this short video, participants and coaches share their experiences of the programme, offering a glimpse into how Design Thinking in Practice supports professionals to tackle real, complex challenges through hands-on, human-centred problem solving. The programme is designed for professionals actively involved in leading projects, designing services, and driving change within their organisations. Through immersive, coach-supported learning, participants work through a real challenge, applying design thinking methods from empathy and problem framing through to ideation, prototyping, and testing. Design Thinking in Practice emphasises applied learning, collaboration, and experimentation. The experience continues beyond the three days through structured post-programme coaching sessions, supporting participants to translate learning into action in their own work contexts.
