These can be relationship decisions, job or career change decisions, and decisions that lead us to needing to discern what path God wants us to take. When discerning God’s will, many times when we have big decisions to discern between, one decision may skew more logical, while one may not make as much logical sense, but we may still feel drawn to it. First, we should remove pride from the decision as best as we can. Is the path completely and solely self serving or would it lead me to love God more and love others more? Which decision would serve God and others? Next, discern which path leads to a greater level of peace. Even if a decision seems like the more logical choice, if it’s producing a greater level of anxiety and lack of peace, it may not be the right decision. The path that has the greatest level of peace is many times God’s will. Matthew 6:34 says “do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.” With that, we should sit in peace and put full faith and trust in God. By removing stress with the decision and keeping our eyes focused on Christ, there can be more clarity and God’s will can be more apparent. Pray for guidance and clarity and take this decision to prayer or fasting. Pray for God’s will to be done and have full faith in God. By seeking to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and having our seeking after Him as our main focus, discernment will grow. Take your hands off the wheel and let God steer your life. The more we seek after Him, the more discernment we’ll have. Glory to God.
