Longplay of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Klingon Honor Guard, the first ever full classic FPS game in the Star Trek universe, 2 years before Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force. It was both developed and published by Microprose, and released in February 1998 for the PC. It is a second ever Unreal Engine 1 game (and it shows), it is clearly archaic, barely working, with multiple stutters, and unfortunately with no real method to fix/improve it. Here it was played at 1024x768 resolution, highest possible details, on a Direct3D renderer, with all its features force enabled. Recorded at 1440p60 H.265 HEVC via OBS. That's a plus I suppose. Closes rival to Klingon Honor Guard? Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II from 1997. I see a lot of DF II in this game here, except the level design is much, MUCH better in DF II, much less labirynthian and confusing. I got confused and lost here, A LOT. Not a fan of this game by any means, 6/10. BUT, I've got a nice, brand new, unpacked, in foil, big box of this game for PC. It's glorious. :) ======================= As a new member of the Klingon Honor Guard, the player is given the mission of foiling a plot to assassinate Chancellor Gowron. During the course of the game, the player encounters a variety of environments, including planet surfaces, caverns, enemy ships, and space stations. Enemies include rival Klingons (including members of the House of Duras), Andorians, attack robots, Nausicaans, Letheans, and various hostile creatures. The game includes twenty missions across 26 maps. Weapons that the player can use include disruptors, the Klingon Bat'leth, grenade launchers, and a gun which creates a miniature black hole. While your character is training for induction to the Klingon Honor Guard, an assassination attempt is made on Gowron, the leader of the Klingon High Council. A bomb has exploded in the High Council chamber, killing several members of the High Council, the Honor Guard, and seriously injuring Gowron. Gowron orders you to active duty in order to pursue the criminals to their safe house in the Klingon Capital City.
