How To Adjust Your Vehicle's Headlights

► Headlights are one of your vehicle's most important safety features. They cut through the night, allowing you to see, but they also alert everyone around you to your vehicle's presence, including those passing by. However, if they're not pointing in the right direction, they won't help anyone. A headlight out of alignment can happen after service work or an accident repair, but you'll need to adjust your headlights in both cases. Headlights are only as effective as their alignment. Each light projects a purposely shaped beam onto the road ahead so as not to blind other drivers and give you maximum sight distance, but an unadjusted headlight throws all of that away. Luckily, almost all headlights have manual adjusters that you can use to adjust the beam to a safer aim. All you need is a good screwdriver and maybe a socket and ratchet, depending on where your adjuster is. Unfortunately, adjuster placement is different for all headlights, but once you've found it, you can use this video to get the beam back in place.
