500 Calories Or Less / What I Eat In A Day / HCLF

Today I will be sharing 500 calories or less meals in this What I Eat In A Day, HCLF video, I was inspired by Joey of ‪@PlantBasedDads‬ to make this video. He has done a few videos featuring recipes that are around 400 calories. I thought this was a great concept to learn for beginners or anyone that is struggling to lose with on a WFPB diet. I will be doing 3 recipes that are 500 calories or less. This is leaning tool to show you how much you can eat when you build your plate in the correct way. The full recipes are below as well as a link to Plant based dads channel. #500caloriesmeals #hclf #whatieatinaday Link to Plant based dads channel    / @plantbaseddads   VEGGIE PACKED OATMEAL AND POTATO 4 cups water 2 cups oats 1 cup frozen riced cauliflower(if using fresh steam for 5 minutes) 1 cup zucchini peeled and grated 1 cup blueberries 1 T ground flax seed 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 2 bananas sliced Add water to a pot and add zucchini and cauliflower Bring to a boil then add oats and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes or so until you get your desired consistency. Add the blueberries and mix well. Place in a glass dish and top with flax, cinnamon and banana. Or you can divide into 4 separate dishes Serve with a steamed potato and add seasonings of your choice Total calories per serving approx. 420 EASY STIR FRY 12 ounces pre packaged stir fry veggies or chop up your own combo 1 bell pepper sliced 1/2 cup sliced onion 2 Napa cabbage leaves chopped 1 tsp. minced garlic 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp garlic salt 1/4 cup coconut aminos Add the onions to a preheated skillet or wok and cook for 2 minutes on medium heat. Add 2 Tablespoons water and garlic and saute for another minute. Add all the veggies and another 2 Tablespoons of water, stir and cover and cook for a few minutes. Then add spices and coconut aminos, and stir and cook for another few minutes. You don't want to over cook your veggies. Makes 2 servings. Serve with 1 cup rice per serving. You can add 1 Tablespoon of sweet chili sauce per serving if you want. Per serving 430 calories RED LENTIL SOUP 4 T water 1 small or 1/2 large onion, small diced 2 carrots, small diced 2 celery stalks, small diced 1/2 zucchini small diced (optional) 1 potato peeled and cubed 2 tablespoons tomato paste 2 tsp minced garlic 1 teaspoons cumin 2 Italian seasoning 1 (28-ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes 6 cups water or if not using bouillon use 6 cups veggie stock 1 cup green or brown lentils or a mix of both 1/2 cup red lentils 2 cups chopped kale or spinach salt to taste at the end. Instructions Add 4 T water to non stick pot and add onion, carrot, celery, zucchini and cook for 5 minutes until onions are softened. Add the tomato paste garlic and spices and stir and cook another 2 minutes. Add the canned tomatoes, water, veggie broth, potatoes lentils and stir well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes. Partially cover with lid. Stir every once in a while. Stir in spinach or kale and cook for a couple of minutes and let the greens wilt a bit. Taste and check to see if you need to add salt.
