Loch Lomond - Balmaha - Scotland | 4K | DJI Mini 3 Pro

Loch Lomond is the largest body of fresh water in Great Britain, with a surface area of over 71 square kilometres (27.5 square miles). It divides the Ben Lomond massif from the Arrochar Alps. Thanks to this location, the landscape around the loch is one of the most spectacular in Scotland, no matter which side you view it from. This mountainous vista is enhanced further by the many islands in the southern part of the loch. There are two main tourist hubs on its banks: Luss on the western side and Balmaha on the eastern. Last summer, we visited the latter in perfect, windless conditions. In the past, we visited Balmaha while preparing for the Munro season, as Conic Hill, towering over the village, is perfect for novice hikers to train on before tackling bigger peaks. While we now train on more challenging Munros in the winter and find Conic Hill quite straightforward, we still believe the view from the top across Loch Lomond is one of the best in Scotland. This time, we visited Balmaha for another reason: to assess the possibility of starting a kayaking trip around the islands from there. I must say, the jetty is perfectly suited for it. In a few months, we hope to share a video of that adventure. Until then, these views of Balmaha, Conic Hill, the Tom Weir statue, and the mirror-like surface of the loch will have to suffice.
