Stacey Reile was prepared for her title shot against female featherweight champion Ina Menzer in Germany. Reile just needed a letter of invitation from the German promotion company hosting the boxing event in order for her trainer Jorge Rubio to go to Germany. Rubio was required to obtain this letter in order for him to receive a Visa to enter Germany. In spite of Reile sending the promotion company all the information that they requested, they neglected to send this letter to Rubio. The company is owned by Menzer's manager. As a result of their failure to send Reile the invitation letter, Reile had to hire another trainer two weeks before the fight. Mark Vaz was Rubio's replacement, but Reile was at a disadvantage without Rubio in her corner. While in Germany, Reile realized that Vaz had little loyalty to her, but even she could not have predicted the betrayal that would happen later... Female featherweight champion Ina Menzer has her toughest fight yet against contender Stacey Reile. Reile was clearly outboxing Menzer the first three rounds. Menzer then hit Reile on the ear after the bell rang to end the third round which ruptured Reile's eardrum and affected her equilibrium. With Reile's equilibrium off due to the late hit, Menzer was able to knock Reile down in the fourth round. Reile immediately got up, but her substitute trainer Mark Vaz unexpectedly waved his arms which forced the referee to stop the fight. Reile asked Vaz, "Why did they stop it so fast?"
