In 2021 I filmed some videos of the bmw b48 fuel injector removal procedure on an extremely low kilometer driven vehicle. Now before I get shot for the poor filming and for missing a few bits of footage let me explain... So sat in my Drive folder today I found a bunch of clips, edited them and thought I may as well use them. The injector teflon seal footage features slightly the wrong insertion tool but tbh since the car never came back and since after ordering the updated tool I saw virtually no difference in outcomes. SO don´t go mad if you are a BMW tech and want to prove a point :) Second thing - I have lost the footage tightening the rail bolts the final 90 Degrees, I also lost the footage showing the mandatory loosening of the rails too during installation. My advice here is this - the video gives you a great idea how the fuel injector must be installed precisely. Evidence of correct fit you can see on the final borescope camera view which shows a nicely, dare I say it, perfectly spaced injector bridge gap. The video is not good enough to use to guess the torque specs either - please consult BMW service data to read and understand the whole procedure. This video is a useful introduction to this b48 injector removal and replacement but not a diy guide. Disclaimer -- These injectors can pose a fire risk due to leakage if not installed properly. Please do not try this unless you have the torque and angle tightening settings and a bridge spacer tool. p.s. The caps that I removed once the rail was taken off are from the factory and are used only to check for fuel leaks. They can be thrown in the bin since they used to contain gas. See - even the factory were worried about leaks!! :) Please subscribe and help my little weeny channel grow. Thank you all for supporting me - I appreciate every single subscriber. I will be giving away free stuff once the channel grows. Who knows? It may be you :)
