Bolshaya Ordynka Street is a street in the Central Administrative District of Moscow. It runs from Maly Moskvoretsky Bridge to Serpukhov Square. The central and oldest street of historical Zamoskvorechye, the border between the modern municipal districts of Yakimanka (even, western side) and Zamoskvorechye (odd, eastern side). The name comes from the word "horde", or rather, from the toponym Orda. The Horde, or Golden Horde, was led by a road that ran from the Kremlin across the Moscow River to the south. Over time, it was also built up with houses and began to be called Ordynka in Moscow. In 2015, Bolshaya Ordynka was renovated: walking paths, park areas, lawns, flower beds were landscaped, trees were planted, additional lighting was installed, and house facades were repaired.
