Welcome to True North Mechatronics. In this episode, we engineer the Rail Pedestals—the critical interface between the mobility layer and the vertical chassis. This component acts as the structural bridge, providing a vibration-dampened foundation for the frame rails while integrating housings for the wheel speed sensors. Unlike the base plate in Part 1 (which can be laser cut), this part is designed specifically for Additive Manufacturing. We leverage the 3D printer's ability to create complex internal geometry for wire routing and sensor housing that traditional machining cannot easily achieve. Design. Engineer. Deploy.
