Kneeland Romp

Kneeland Romp is an English Country Dance devised by Gary Roodman, https://calculatedfigures.com/ , in 1987. It is a proper three couple longways dance. The tune, also called Le Basque was composed by Martin Marais, and performed by MGM (Mary Lea, Gene Murrow and Margaret Ann Martin) on the album New Friends. It is used here with permission from Gary Roodman. The animation plays at 115 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
