Starting from approximately 3600 photographs taken from the International Space Station by Zena Cardman on September 29th, we created this #timelapse. This is a nocturnal #ISS flyover of the South Pacific Ocean. The lights of the most populous cities scattered across various archipelagos, such as Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga, are clearly visible. In the final part, just before sunrise, you can catch a glimpse of an aurora and several satellites passing along the horizon. One of them appears to be flashing—this is the typical behavior of a "tumbling" object rotating on its axis. The video covers a timeframe of 30 minutes and is therefore accelerated by approximately 10 times compared to the Station's real speed. -------------- The AstronautiCAST YouTube channel is run by passionate volunteers on an unpaid basis.
