O My Mind, Only He is the true God , the One whose fame endures for all eternity, as long as the moon and the sun exist and who is known as the one who never fails in his word. He is the God who appeared in the form of the wielder of the bow Kodaṇḍa, in order to subdue the arrogance of countless demons, protect Indra and the other celestial hosts, and safeguard the pious people of this earthly realm. He is the God who appeared with the name “Rama,” the saving ford that enables one to cross the ocean of worldly existence and attain liberation into which Lord Siva, the moon-crested vanquisher of the lotus-born Brahma, initiates the ignorant who do not know the right path. He is the God praised by Brahma, worshipped by the very hands of Lord Siva, Thyagaraja, and who, having been born nobly in the illustrious Solar dynasty, bears the revered name “Sithapathi,” the Consort of Sitha. ------------------------------------------------------------ DISCLAIMER: These songs have been uploaded solely for listening pleasure and as an archive to preserve Carnatic music.
