Mount Jiuhua Scenic Drive | 4K HDR – A Mountain Road Carved Through the Valleys

On this trip, we travel along the southern foothills of Mount Jiuhua in southern China’s Anhui Province. The journey begins east of Tangxi Town and continues through forested valleys before reaching Nanyang Township. Soon after setting out, the road passes through a peaceful rural landscape where rolling hills meet farmland. In the distance, the southern ridges of Mount Jiuhua stretch across the horizon, while rice fields, tea plantations, and scattered villages dot the valley floor. As the elevation gradually increases, the road enters deeper mountain valleys. The forests become denser, with large expanses of bamboo and cedar covering the hillsides. Mountain streams flow alongside the roadway, creating a lush and vibrant natural environment. This route was once blocked by continuous mountain ridges. In recent years, however, it has been opened and improved as part of China’s ongoing infrastructure development. Along the way, we can still see busy construction vehicles and engineering equipment working on slope stabilization and road improvements. Compared with the dramatic peaks and rock formations found in the main scenic area of Mount Jiuhua, this route offers a different perspective—one that feels more natural, more rural, and deeply connected to the everyday landscape of southern Anhui.
