Here's the truth. Women don't owe society "pretty" or "thin", or "put together". We’ve all heard it—"Makeup is just a personal choice." But is it really that simple? In this video, I’m walking you through the long, winding history of makeup—from Ancient Egypt to modern-day marketing—to show how deeply women have been conditioned to view beauty as a responsibility. We’ll explore why men once wore makeup too, and why they stopped. We’ll look at how religion, politics, class, and capitalism shaped today’s anti-aging obsession. And we’ll ask the real question: Did we ever truly choose this? Whether you wear makeup or not, this is a conversation about freedom, agency, and learning to see ourselves beyond the surface. 💄✨ My hope is that this video sparks curiosity—encouraging someone to reflect on why they wear makeup or use anti-aging products, and to begin seeing that they are already enough, just as they are.
