Scruffy Santa Christmas Decoration Never thought about getting to the 100th post, but glad this one was it!  This little guy was just fun to make. Prepping the alpaca fur was a brand new process to me. Took some time to figure it out, and still need to really learn the skill, but it made this more of a challenge. What started this process: When my much better half was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, in her wisdom, she knew that when she was gone, I would be lost and rudderless without something to occupy my mind and my time… Having had a passing interest in lathe work when I was younger, she gave me a push and fully supported the efforts to take up working on a lathe. Ultimately she strongly encouraged me to embrace making turned wood art as a hobby. Working on the lathe, outdoors in Dunedin, FL, has been cathartic. It has been my sanctuary. Now these years later, even after giving away hundreds of pieces, my shelves and tables are full, but my heart and hands still desire to create. Believe it is time to share and maybe even sell some of what was created by her inspiration….
