Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to Frankfurt onboard one of the new Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i on a nice afternoon, night, and morning over the US, the Atlantic, and central Europe. A comfortable flight from Los Angeles to Frankfurt onboard the Lufthansa Boeing 747-8. The airplane was almost full, but we were lucky that the middle seat was free, so the extra space made this 11h flight a lot easier. The onboard service, although it has nothing to do with middle-east airlines, was not bad. Definitely better than the one offered on my previous flight to Dubai with Lufthansa on the Boeing 747-400. At least this time the salad was not only lettuce... The pasta main meal was actually pretty good. Not amazing but tasty. The flight itself was really nice: we took off from Los Angeles airport towards the Pacific Ocean and made a quick 180° over the coast back to the United States. We had some nice views before we caught the night. The ones over Las Vegas, the Nevada desert, or the Rocky Mountains were truly amazing. The Sunrise over the Atlantic was also really nice. First, the intense blue colors, which after a short time, turned into yellow, orange, and red. That's the magical moment of any flight: 100% of the passengers are sleeping and the plane is in complete silence. The perfect atmosphere to enjoy the Sunrise at 37.000 ft. We entered Europe mainland over Brussels and flew on direct course to Frankfurt, where we landed after a beautiful approach. Now it is your turn! Have you ever flown with Lufthansa? Which route?
