In this Tech Noir documentary Amiga Kick Start: Jay Miner & The Launch of The Amiga. Meet and understand the man Jay Miner, the founder of the Amiga computer. Through Jay Miners trials and tribulations in getting the Amiga computer made. Not much has been mentioned about Jay Miner in general. A true genius, he helped redefine the personal computer as we see it today, this was back in the time when other computers were monochrome and zero creativity, Amiga was the definition of creativity. In this exciting documentary you will see the launch of the Amiga, the products, in depth talks from Jay Miner and you will get to meet the original Amiga team. Jay Miner has achieved a lifetime of engineering feats, since his days working at Atari, he has designed the Atari 2600, Atari 800 processors and overall design. He decided to quit Atari forming his own company Amiga. Amiga has revolutionized the computer industry as we know it. As they developed their own GPU and most of the processors in general inside the computer. Amiga was well known to have advanced 3D animation, movie editing, sound production and a lot of things we take for granted, this was in the early 80s-90s. Unlike the Apple when it was launched being in black and white monochrome. Amiga was in full color, with multi tasking, a full UI interface in its OS, the immense capabilities went beyond Apple, IBM and the rest. Today computers use off the shelf components such as a NVIDIA GPU graphics card, Intel or AMD processor. Which other company in this day and age makes their own processors? Same with smart phones, they just use Broadcom and other components. Amiga was truly innovative and well ahead of its time. RIP Jay Miner.
