Friday again and don’t forget its Mothers Day on Sunday so make sure you are all prepared for it!! What a week! Its been a deep dig main and mud pushing kind or week. Cool Hand Luke and King Kev have been putting in a new 150mm (6”) twin wall main near Pershore in readiness for drainage we will be installing when ground conditions allow us to drain the field. They said that the site was wet an have been chased by water since the start of the job. It got even worse when Luke dug up an existing land drain that no one knew was there. Still, it turned out to be a good test for the pipes they had already installed as the water coming out from the old land drain found itself into the new pipe even before it was connected and was running down the new pipe in the direction it was meant to. We are well impressed with the finish they have left, that is a top job in anyone's book. They were finished there yesterday and are back in the yard now on washing and polishing duties, both relieved the weather is not as bad as it was yesterday! Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul have been on mud pushing duties all week. I say mud pushing but what I mean is returning the subsoil and topsoil on the final section of the new water main installation by Severn Trent Water near Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. Things were a bit claggy at the start of the week but we were fortunate to have a few dry days with a good wind which soon dried things up and allowed them to level things out without too much hassle. The land is farmed by Mr David Jones who paid them a visit and he had Mr Joe Seels with him. Now I am not one to gossip as you all know, but as David and Joe were admiring the excellent levelling works of Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul I was left wondering is palms had not been crossed with silver as the talk turned quickly to how good the works were and it was nothing but skill etc, etc, etc. Admittedly, you cannot knock Boss Man Chris's or Brother Pauls work but, we mere mortals will now have to live with those endorsements till the end of time. 😂 You can follow Joe on his You Tube and Facebook channels at www.facebook.com/joe.seels &    / @joeseels   Bit of a funny week for Dillybob as he has been doing battle with an old Fermec wheel digger. He has kept coming over several times a day asking me to look on Google for brake pipes, various valves and bearings and all manners of things. I am convinced it is just an excuse for him to come over to the biscuit tin as I have never been able to find a bearing for the hand throttle shims or the sleeve for the upthumping valves!! Another week done lads and in one way or another its been quite exciting. I hope you all have plans to see you through till Monday so until then stay safe and stay smiley 😊.
