This week has been 99 percent golf course drainage week. Which the lads are over the moon with as they have been spoilt rotten by the chefs at the course. We have been putting in new 100mm mains in the more difficult areas and mainly shorter runs. All has gone well although some parts were not much more than a rizla paper away from the greens. Ok yes, a bit of an exaggeration but it was pretty close. One section required the trailer that catches the excavated spoil to be on a bit of a hill. Dillybob was on trailer duty right up until that point when all of a sudden it was Kev’s tractor so he should be doing it! The drain runs we topped up a few weeks ago are looking good. Grass seed was mixed in with the rootzone and it is showing promise in several areas. So far we are happy with the result, it could do with a wee bit of rain just to push it on a bit. We did spend today at the local estate backfilling some of the trenches where the plumbers and electricians have finished their works on the pipe. All was going great guns until 12.30 then they left for the day. . . I thought that was a thing that factories did in the 1970’s. Still, King Kev did get to play on his favourite John Deere tractor and rumour control says he was happier than a fat kid in a sweet shop when they found a trailer for it and some stone to move about the estate!! Dillybob has been out on site all week, they let him loose on some of the machines. Quote of the day goes like this. . . “I have been good with the sandwiches, cheese salad most of the week, oh and chips, they always brought a massive plate of chips”. We did have a bit of an emergency earlier, he came running over to the office holding his neck and asked me to check his back to make sure there were no insects, scorpions or mountain lions on him as something has bitten his neck. In his defence there was definitely a bite but I don’t think it was a mountain lion. It didn’t effect his appetite though as he was soon snaffling in the biccy tin once he had the all clear!! That is another week done lads, thank you as always for the graft and the giggles. I hope you all have some wonderful plans for the weekend and have a wonderful time doing them. We will see you on Monday but until then stay safe and stay smiley 😊
