He later served as Director for the United States and as Director in the Foreign Minister’s Office, placing him at the center of key diplomatic decisions. His posting as ambassador to Oman marked a high point in his career, where he helped advance Pakistan’s ties with one of its most trusted partners in the Gulf. Another of his major assignments was his tenure as Consul General in Toronto—one of Pakistan’s busiest overseas missions—where he became widely respected within the diaspora. Known for his open-door approach, he was considered a “people’s diplomat,” ensuring that community members could reach him directly whenever they needed support. Before joining Pakistan’s Foreign Service, Imran taught political science at F.F. He is an alumnus of Government College, Lahore. He later studied International Relations at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and Media and Communications at the London School of Economics.
