During the Al-Can trip, we used the Touratech Alaska map as our primary guide to where we'd travel. However, during our travels, there were several places where locals would tell us, "Surely you're going to visit XYZ." While it might not be on the Touratech map, it always paid off to follow that advice. One such place was in Stewart, BC (which itself is not included on the Touratech map). We must have had a half dozen locals during our overnight stay suggest visiting Salmon Glacier. This actually required crossing the border at Hyder, Alaska, then back into BC as we approached the Glacier. But, the only border crossing checkpoint was upon our return after visiting the glacier. Also along this route is the Fish Creek wildlife observation site, where in July and August you can watch bears feeding on salmon literally feet from the boardwalk you're on. But we were traveling in May, so we'd be skunked on bear sightings here. Anyway, We had three GoPros and two HDSLRS shooting video, plus a couple more shooting stills. Videography by Ray B and Mark D.
