I’m stuck between two paths — and I don’t think either is obviously right. On one side: a simple system. Everyone gets 1,440 points a day (one per minute). Equal distribution. Spend them however you want. Clean, understandable, hard to game. It works. On the other side: a much more complex system that might solve the problems I actually care about — media incentives, AI alignment, medicine, and motherhood — but risks becoming dystopian, overly complex, or fragile. This video is me thinking out loud about that tradeoff. Right now: Media makes money by polarizing and manipulating attention Medicine makes more money treating sickness than preventing it AI risks optimizing against humans instead of for them Motherhood creates massive long-term value that markets barely recognize The question is: 👉 Can a points-based system realign incentives without turning into a Black Mirror episode? I explore ideas like: Personalized vs universal points Contribution vs consumption Percent-human weighting (humans vs bots) Whether ratings, taste, or Maslow-style need levels help… or make things worse Why “bad actors at scale” break most moral scoring systems Why markets might discount people, not just prices I don’t have a clean answer yet. I do think the easy system avoids a lot of danger — but also dodges the hardest problems. I want pushback. Not vibes. Not applause.
