Changing the Front Axle Oil on the GC2300

Tractors are great eh and I like them a lot!! But from time to time they need maintenance!!! That's another thing I like about them!!! In this video I change the oil in the front drive axle of my Massey Ferguson GC2300 sub-compact tractor. This is a check that is recommended to be carried out about every 250 hours. The steering knuckles on my front axle weep oil and so I tend to add oil every once and a while. That makes me think if I don't get the oil changed every 250 hours, it's not a mortal sin!!! But I thought after a winter's worth of plowing it would be good to change the oil now. I also have the worst luck at either draining oil or adding oil to/from equipment. I either spill oil everywhere, and I mean everywhere, when draining it or adding it. One of the biggest issues I have is getting oil from a big container to a smaller one. Like for example from a 20 liter pail into a 4 liter jug. I like to do this when I can as pouring from the small jug seems easier to control, although I still manage to spill a good amount of whatever I transferring!!! Anyways I have found a better way to transfer from the big pail into the jug. I found this idea on YouTube so I can't take credit for it, but I sure can promote it. It is a terrific idea and it virtually eliminates any chance of spilling oil while transferring. Have a look and see what you think of this simple technique to ensure a 'spill free' oil transfer!!!
