Vlog 88 of my North East India expedition. For the past few days I have been living beside a beautiful river in Sohbar, Meghalaya, very close to the Bangladesh border. My car has become my small home and Jon Snow and I spend our days camping in this quiet valley surrounded by forests and mountains. In the morning I walk down to the river to take a bath. The water here is incredibly clear and green, flowing through rocks beneath the massive Wahrew Bridge that connects the valley. Afternoons here are extremely hot, so most of the day I stay inside the car with all the doors open, letting the breeze pass through while Jon Snow naps beside me. In the evening I walk along the river trail to explore the valley and see the Wahrew bridge up close. It is one of the most beautiful places I have camped during this journey. But this episode is also about something else. While living here beside the river, I started thinking about the way I have been travelling. For months I have been moving slowly, staying longer in places, observing life quietly. But lately I have started feeling something different. A feeling that maybe it's time to move faster, drive longer distances, and explore more places. This journey of living on the road has never been just about travel. It is also about listening to your own thoughts and understanding where they come from. Sometimes the road outside helps you understand the road inside. Tomorrow I leave Meghalaya and drive towards Assam, beginning the next chapter of this North East journey If you enjoy off-road adventures, hidden caves, camping in nature, and traveling with your dog — this one is for you.
