I’ve landed in Keningau, a mountain town in Borneo, and let me tell you—it’s been an adventure right from the start. After securing a bus ticket, I discovered that every hotel online was fully booked! With no other choice, I rolled into town hoping for the best. The only available room I found was in a more expensive hotel, which wiped out my budget for the day—but hey, sometimes you’ve just got to roll with it! After a solid night's sleep, I set out to explore Keningau, and this town did not disappoint. From its charming colonial-style town center to the unique religious buildings, and even the historically significant Oath Stone—a symbol of the Malaysian Government’s commitment to the indigenous locals—there was plenty to see. On my way back, I stumbled upon a local festival, complete with local produce and a live band. It was a delightful slice of Keningau life!
