This is a playthrough using Arthur Stewart in the PS1 game Kensei: Sacred Fist. Read on below for more information... Arthur is the sub-boss for Ann, and he is an unlockable playable character. ===== HOW TO UNLOCK ARTHUR ===== Beat Normal Mode using Ann. ===== ABOUT ARTHUR ===== He has been practicing Amateur Wrestling in the Briston Academy Wrestling Club since he was a kid. During his training he had applied a flexible and elegant method to the striking techniques, making his style have more finesse. During his time at the academy he met a fellow student named Ann Griffith and became good friends with her, helping her train in his own style of amateur wrestling. His father, the owner of of a British weapon company, suddenly disappeared and passed on the company to Arthur when he turned 19. The company was in a bad state, so he set out onto the streets to find new employees. One day during travelling, he found Ann being attacked by a biker gang so he jumped in and defeated the gang easily. Ann thanked him and vowed to repay a favour to him one day. After hearing of The Sacred Fist Tournament from Ann, and learning about his company's own war with The Tsubaki Corporation, Arthur enters the competition in the hopes of defeating Kaiya, thinking that it will put an end to the war between the two corporations. ===== GAMEPLAY ===== Even though this guy has plenty of strikes, he is a grappler for the most part... he has a number of throw catches which when used in the hands of an expert, would make him and Ann possibly the most annoying characters in the game. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- Gameplay-wise he is based on Ann's fighting style. ---- The game is known as Bugi in Japan. ---- During gameplay against CPU opponents in Normal Mode, "FREE PLAY" blinks above the CPU character's lifebar. This is rather interesting because there isn't an Arcade version of the game. ===== ABOUT KENSEI SACRED FIST ===== This is a decent fighting game. There is a large repertoire of moves for each character, and the game depicts the various martial art styles very well. The game has a total roster of 23 characters, with 9 base characters being initially available when you begin the game, so there is a lot of unlocking to do. The unlockable characters share a moveset with one of the regular base characters, usually with some differences such as a few unique moves to themselves; some moves removed; slight changes to their strike ranges; and slight changes to their combo lengths. A cool feature of the gameplay is that Guarding consists of the characters avoiding/dodging the opponent strikes rather than blocking. The Japanese version of the game is called Bugi, where apart from the Japanese dialogue in the Command Lists and the Options screen, the game seems to be identical to it's Western counterpart. The game's graphics are good for the PS1's standards, and runs at a lovely 60fps.
