Did you know Singapore once had rainbow-coloured HDB flats? 🌈🏢 Before it was demolished, Rochor Centre was one of the city’s most iconic housing estates. Built in 1977, the mixed-use development housed both residents and shops in the Bugis–Rochor area. In 1994, four of its blocks were repainted in bold red, blue, green and yellow, instantly turning it into a striking urban landmark and a favourite photography spot. Designed in a podium-and-tower layout, Rochor Centre combined retail spaces below with residential flats above, creating a vibrant community hub for decades. But between 2018 and 2019, it was demolished to make way for the North–South Corridor. Though the colourful blocks are gone, Rochor Centre lives on in memories and photographs — a vivid chapter of Singapore’s urban history. 📍 Rochor / Bugis — where Singapore once stood in colour 🔔 Like, comment & subscribe for more hidden Singapore stories 🇸🇬📜 Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ATcN5BNwu5xhB...
