October is AAC Awareness Month. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a term to describe various communication methods that support or replace verbal speech. A few examples include speech-generating devices (such as iPad "talkers"), hand gestures, sign language, and picture boards. In October, students and staff from Park View Elementary School will discuss and show how AAC tools are used in the classroom, on the playground, and among peers. Thank you to Park View students Marcus, Grace, Sophia, Jack, and Julia for their help in creating this video story. Thank you to Park View staff members Kiley Greco, Roshni Patel, and Amelia Russell for their assistance.
