Every culture has a comfort soup. And in my Singaporean home, my mom made many kinds. But this spinach soup was different, because it was the one dish my dad actually made from scratch. Nothing fancy, nothing dramatic, yet it became one of my absolute favorites. To be clear, my dad did not cook much. But when I was newly married and already living abroad, I came home for a visit and he decided to make this for me. From scratch. It was his way of saying he loved me and missed me, even though he never said those words out loud. My version stays close to his. Clear broth. Soft spinach. Gentle sweetness from the goji berries. The only change is me adding salted egg for that rich, savory depth. It's a bowl you can cook even if you rarely step into the kitchen. Warm and honest, for the days you need a little comfort with no fuss. 🍽 Read the full story and recipe on Substack 👉 https://happivore.substack.com/p/my-d... 💌 Join The Happivore Life (free) It comes with my Asian Pantry Starter Guide PDF.
