This episode starts on day 7 of the passage from Tahiti to California. We are deep in the Pacific, pushing on from Tahiti toward California via Hawaii. As the miles tick by, the boat starts to remind us who’s really in charge — with new issues surfacing, some minor, some a lot more serious. The weather begins to shift as we slide into the Doldrums. The wind softens, squalls roll through, and patience gets tested in a different way. Despite it all, we make solid time and eventually sail our way into Hawaii. There’s pizza, a brief chance to breathe, and then the hard part — saying goodbye to Donnie and Warren before the journey continues. This leg takes me offshore aboard a Catana 55, sailing from Tahiti toward California — thousands of miles of open Pacific, rough seas, and a boat that’s far from perfect. The timing isn’t ideal, the weather doesn’t care, and every day demands problem-solving, patience, and trust in the crew and the vessel. Boat deliveries are a different kind of adventure. There’s no finish line you can see, no shore to pull up on when things get hard. Just watch systems, shifting weather, long night watches, and the quiet weight of responsibility when you’re keeping a boat — and everyone on it — moving safely across an ocean. This series is about what doesn’t make it into the glossy sailing videos: breakdowns, fatigue, tough calls, and the moments of calm in between. It’s messy, demanding, and absolutely unforgettable — offshore sailing at its rawest. From freshwater to bluewater, paddles to sails — the journey continues. 👉 THANK YOU for being part of this adventure. Your support truly keeps me moving.
