#4 of 7 Jack and Jennifer scenes chronologically, July-September 1990 The Cruise of Deception group is rescued and once back in Salem, Jennifer ends her engagement to Emilio and embarks on a relationship with Jack. With the arrival of Carly Manning aka Katerina, Jennifer begins keeping secrets from Jack as she helps Carly conceal her identity. Harper escapes from jail and aims to kill Steve during his wedding to Kayla, but Jack encounters him and a fight leads to Harper's death. Jack, who had already been dealing with insistent reservations in his relationship with Jennifer, pushes Jennifer away once again. They reconcile for one night, but when Jack finds out Jennifer had a job offer in New York, he leaves her in bed with a note telling her to go. Heartbroken, Jennifer throws herself into a new endeavor - impersonating Carly/Katerina in order to keep Carly from having to marry Lawrence Alamain.
