After Silverstone, the rush to try fix my driveshaft issue as the source of the pulling was on. Long story short, a lot of messing around with CV's and drive shaft lengths, I thought I had the issue sorted and we headed of to Donington for the penultimate round. Yet, the freaking gods of annoyance struck again and as I drove back from scrutineering the car was pulling like crazy to the left again. I spent all evening trying to diagnose the problem but couldn't find a direct reason as to what could be causing the issue. We even went so far as to try different tyres just in case they had worn funny. Quali was a write off, nothing really worked well, I went in late and so only got a few flying laps, caught a lot of traffic and ended up 3rd, 0.5 seconds off the pace of pole. So, on the flip side I knew I had to knuckle down, get a good start and push hard for the win. I needed max points from every race now to win. And the really weird thing is, that sometimes, when you just need something to happen, even when there are issues and the car isn't at its best, and you're not 100% confident........the fact that you don't stress over how you're going to make something happen, it just happens. Win, new lap record.......and me left wondering why we worry sometimes about alignment to the fractions of a degree when that all just happened with a car that wont go in a straight line!
