Another awesome early Spring journey to Upper and Lower Pratt Balconies! Spectacular majestic views, fluorescent moss, sunlit cascades and miniature waterfalls. I parked in the small roadside lot, just off the Middle Fork Road, at the Upper CCC Trailhead. Hiked about 1/2 mile to the "y" unmarked Pratt Balcony trailhead. There's a big boulder on the left at the "y" The Pratt Balcony Trail was muddy in multiple spots. I guess I hiked on the new section through the forest instead of the old rocky dry creek bed. First stop offroad: a rockface miniature waterfall that can be heard but not seen at present in the lower forest. As the trail neared Pratt Balcony, I noticed there's a fork now with right going to Pratt Balcony and a faint trail going left that climbs the slope to what I'll call Garfield Viewpoint or "Upper Pratt Balcony". There's also a nice log bench to relax and enjoy the view which was exceptional today. From this point there is now another faint boot path heading further up the slope. This is where (on a previous journey) I found a grove of ancient old grow trees and additional spectacular views! #nature #mountains #peak
