I knew going in that this was going to be strange and unsettling, but I wasn’t prepared for just how hypnotic and dreamlike the whole experience would feel. From the opening moments with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, I was hooked by the tension simmering beneath every interaction. The way Kubrick shoots New York at night makes it feel like another world. I could completely see why this movie is still talked about so much.
