We were honoured to host the Community Engagement Team from the Department of Home Affairs at The Australian Pavilion Sports Museum in Adelaide. Surrounded by cricket and football history, the conversation turned to a very current challenge for Australia — pharmacist shortages in regional and remote communities. As a practicing rural pharmacist and community advocate, Irfan Hashmi shared practical insights from the frontline, including how internationally trained pharmacists can be supported to meet Australian standards and serve long-term in regional towns. The discussion highlighted: • Workforce gaps across rural Australia • Pathways for overseas-trained pharmacists • Community integration through sport, culture, and health • The role museums and community spaces play in multicultural engagement This visit shows how sport, health, and community can come together to create meaningful conversations and real solutions for regional Australia. 📍 Filmed at The Australian Pavilion Sports Museum, Adelaide CBD #RegionalPharmacy #RuralHealth #CommunityEngagement #SportsMuseum #Adelaide #PharmacistLife #MulticulturalAustralia #HealthcareWorkforce
