Both sisters were performing well in the 25 lap Sportsman main event until, Peyton's hopes of putting the Derby fiascos behind her went up in smoke during the half way point when cars begun to spin. Billy Both spun, Steve Whitt who had success at the non-defunct Flemington Speedway spun to avoid but, he got into the mix. Peyton had no choice so, she ended up being sandwiched from another spinning car of Branden Sullivan. Peyton, came out of her car in disgust and realized why she could not continue. Finally, she was towed away with serious front end damage. Overall no injuries reported. After the track and damaged cars gone, the elder Arthofer rejoined the event and finished a very respectable fourth and, Peyton was credited 11th.
