Welcome to Podbaba Transport Video 1002, filmed between Wednesbury Parkway and Wednesbury Great Western Street on Tuesday 17th February 2026 - the first day of two consecutive days of West Midlands Metro trams running only between Wolverhampton Station and Wednesbury Great Western Street as the Midland Metro Alliance team ties in the pointwork at Tipton Junction to enable tramcar running along the almost complete Black Country Valley line towards Dudley and, eventually, Merry Hill then Brierley Hill. To operate this truncated line requires 6 trams, and on the day, they were all CAF Urbos 100s as follows: 42 49 52AD 55 56 58 In addition, tram 51 was on driver training duties. We filmed a ride, as if in the cab, between Wednesbury Parkway and Great Western Street and return before concentrating on trams arriving and departing Wednesbury Parkway including the raising and lowering of pantographs as the overhead power was, of necessity, switched off as work was being done at Tipton Junction.
