www.drsamrizk.com Renowned international news agency Reuters conducts a video segment on the rising popularity of selfies and the lengths people go to in order to put their best face forward. NYC facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sam Rizk is featured for his take on the selfie-inspired nosejob. While rhinoplasty can correct a patient's nasal flaws and improve self confidence, Dr. Rizk says that not all patients who ask for a nosejob actually need one. "The selfie is not an accurate depiction of a person's actual image. The angle, the proximity of the phone... all of those are factors which affect the size of the image," says Dr. Rizk. With that in mind, Dr. Rizk does turn down approximately 20% of the patients who come to him for a rhinoplasty in hopes of bettering their selfie. Dr. Rizk carefully evaluates each potential patient's nose and reasons for wanting surgery. He only performs nosejobs on patients who he agrees can benefit from a rhinoplasty. Reuters interviews one of Dr. Rizk's patients, who says she feels much more comfortable taking pictures of herself after her rhinoplasty.
