February 4, 2026 Homeless and Housing Task Force Meeting

Homeless and Housing Task Force is the education and outreach arm of the CoC and strives to share approachable, pertinent information about local programs, mainstream benefits, and other initiatives related to the CoC's mission of ensuring homelessness is rare, brief, and one-time in Tompkins County. This month features David West, Planning Administrator - Housing and Community Development Director and Shawna Stevenson, Housing and Community Development Planner both from Tompkins County Planning Department. They will be presenting the 2024 Tompkins County Housing Snapshot. The 2024 Housing Snapshot was released on Dec 3, 2025, and is now available online here. This edition features data from local, state, and national sources to track Tompkins County housing trends, conditions, and development based on targets established in the 2017 Housing Strategy. New for this edition of the snapshot: an Equity Indicator Data section reporting on housing tenure and housing cost burden by race and ethnicity. The Housing Snapshot is a valuable planning tool for our community and I can't wait for you to come hear all about it! We will also hear from our very own JD Drader, Health Access Coordinator at Human Services Coalition. JD will be providing information about what changes some people using certain health insurance can expect beginning in June as well as future changes happening for people who are insured through New York State of Health in the Essential 200-250 plan.
