Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. 2. In a large pot or deep skillet, add beef, water, and beef base.Simmer 10–15 minutes until beef is tender. If using sirloin or flank steak, simmer only 5–7 minutes. 3. Push beef to one side. Add butter or oil, then sauté onions and mushrooms until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. 4. Sprinkle in flour, stir well, and cook for 1 minute. 5. Let sauce simmer until slightly thickened. 6. Lower heat and stir in sour cream until smooth and creamy. 7. Season with black pepper. Add salt only if needed. 8. Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes, or mix noodles directly into the pot. 9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot. Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened ⅓ cup white sugar 2 tbsp sour cream (very common in Russian baking) 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1½ cups all-purpose flour ½ tsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt ¾ to 1 cup chocolate chunks or chips Instructions 1. Cream butter and sugar until smooth (don’t over-whip). 2. Mix in egg, sour cream, and vanilla. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. 4. Combine dry ingredients with wet just until mixed. 5. Fold in chocolate. 6. Chill dough 20–30 minutes (important for texture). 7. Scoop thick mounds onto a lined baking sheet. 8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes Edges set, centers soft and pale.
